Warner Bros. Studios is still flooding with champagne as The Dark Knight's box office onslaught still continues after four weeks, beating Columbia Pictures's stoner flick Pineapple Express this past weekend.
Director Christopher Nolan's masterpiece sequel accumulated about $26 million over the weekend, adding up to its $441 million domestic total. The Dark Knight now sits as the third highest grossing film of all time, below Star Wars at number two and Titanic's $600 million domestic reign. While Pineapple Express only grossed about $22 million over the weekend, the Seth Rogen toker-action flick already earned about $40 million since its opening last Wednesday.
Executives at Warner Bros. expects The Dark Knight to surpass the $500 million domestic gross mark, beating Star Wars's $460 million. We leave you with, "It's not who you are underneath, but it's what you do...that defines you." Or something like that.
