Realtime Worlds said recently that they were not completely writing off a Crackdown 2 game, but that it may depend on Microsoft.
Colin MacDonald, Realtime boss, said:
“Obviously, right now we’re tied up with APB and everything else, but hopefully in the future we’ll have the resource and something can be worked out with Microsoft. We poured five years of our lives into that game. You know, we’ve got guys on the development team that have Crackdown tattoos, permanent tattoos on their arms. We’re extremely passionate about it."
So, it looks like the developers of the game really care and are interested in getting it a sequel. It may come down to Microsoft wanting to publish it. One things for sure; The world needs more guys getting tattoos of the games they work on. In fact, it should be mandatory. We'll see how many movie tie-ins suck butt after that law gets passed.
Crackdown is a free-roaming 3rd-person crime/action exploder published by Microsoft. You may remember it was bundled with a Halo 3 beta key, which is the reason most people bought it. Turned out, it was a really great game and now we want a standalone sequel, dag nabit.
