Konami PS3 Revenue Up, Thanks 'MGS 4'

Yet again, on behalf of Konami, Snake's saluting one for the homies. After Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots topped the June video game sales charts, Konami revealed a 16.7% revenue increase on their first quarter financial results.

Old Snake's final mission has catapulted to three million units shipped since its June debut, which would be the prominent reason in Konami's 57.3% Playstation 3 sales business this quarter ending June 30 , a significant increase from last year's mere 1.3%. Konami profited $108 million from a net revenue of $656 million.

The company's next PS3 title from their popular survival-horror series, Silent Hill: Homecoming, is set to hit retail shelves this September. But of course, it's not Metal Gear. C'mon Campbell, we're sure you need him for another round...
