If you ever wanted a lifeform outside of our planet to ever "phone" you from their home, Bebo might give you that chance. The social-networking is starting a project called "A Message From Earth" that allow users to send a personalized message that will be sent through a time capsule in outer space.
But the things is, you better put some effort in your intergalactic telegram, as only 500 messages are going to be voted in by users to go to in the capsule. The messages will be travelling in light-speed, passing the moon within 1.7 seconds and eventually leaving our solar system within seven hours.
Don't expect to get any response from whatever's out there soon, as the messages aren't expected to arrive on its target planet, Gliese, until 2029. "A Message From Earth" will be sent this October.
