Gears of War 2, Fable 2, and a limited Rock Band 2 exclusives aren't apparently enough to Microsoft.
Microsoft Interactive Entertainment head Don Mattrick said that the Xbox 360 needs more unique titles that's not available on any other console. When EDGE asked about the system's weakness, Mattrick said:
"We’d love to have more exclusive hits on our box, absolutely. Are we investing in that? Yes we are. Does that take a lot of time? Yes it does."
With rumors of Microsoft's interest in acquiring Grand Theft Auto IV publisher Take-Two Interactive and exclusive DLC for GTA IV and Fallout 3, Mattrick might actually get what he's asking for his company. On the other hand, Sony's Jack Tretton did say that Sony simply cannot afford to buy more exclusives, as they have spent so much on the PS3's hardware. Also, Sony plans on focusing more on their first-party exclusives. Smell that? Something's burning...
