As we have previously reported, Take-Two Interactive mentioned that there are "multiple parties" interested in acquiring their company. Since Electronic Arts's persistence to buy the Grand Theft Auto IV publisher seems to be not enough, a reported from Seeking Alpha suggested that Microsoft might be interested in bidding for the company as well.
The anonymous writer from the website stated:
“I think that Microsoft is a likely bidder for Take-Two. Microsoft already makes a video game platform (Xbox and Xbox 360) as well as independently publishes video games.”
And the writer is not just saying that, but he/she bases it on the acquisition made by Microsoft when it bought Bungie during the production of their best-selling Halo series. Ironically, Grand Theft Auto IV broke Halo 3's already stellar sales record when it was released earlier this year. We don't need to tell you how much bank the big M will rake in if they obtain Take-Two Interactive. EA has extended its deadline for Take-Two until August 18, so we'll see if any other bidders step up.
