To avoid the traditional attempt to match M&M's color scheme, Nintendo VP of Marketing Cammie Dunaway said that there are no plans in creating multiple-colored Wii systems, according to IGN's interview. Also, she said that the company still has no current plans in redesigning the DS.
Nintendo always had a knack in creating several colors for their systems such as the Game Boy Advance, SP and even the latest Nintendo DS Lite handheld. But the Wii already has enough commercial success as it became the top selling system in the U.S. last month, so a "new color" marketing plan shouldn't be necessary. However, we were really looking forward in having our Wiis painted with cornflower blue, or maybe even a hint of burgundy rose, but we can't ask for much from an already inspiring system.
According to Dunaway during the interview, Nintendo has increased their manufacturing capacity by 30 percent to increase the number of Wiis in people's homes. Check out the rest of the interview through the source.
