In a post on the Capcom community boards, someone posed the question "Okami 2, where is it?" A valid inquirey. Thankfully Christian Svenson, Corporate Officer of Strategic Planning and Business Development, responded fairly quickly. His answer? "I think we need a lot more people buying the current version before we seriously consider a sequel." Sad face.
While it comes as no surprise that a game developer wouldn't green-light a sequel unless the first game sold well, it is a bit disheartening to think that the moderate sales and huge critical acclaim wouldn't be enough to garner a second attempt. I mean, Ubisoft went ahead with Beyond Good and Evil 2, why not you, Capcom? Why not you?
