With the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe by Midway, co-creator of the MK series Ed Boon has been talking to a lot of people, and it comes as no surprise that his mouth is very busy at this year's Comic-Con. Kotaku talked with Boon about the scrapped concept for Mortal Kombat 8 that was on the table before the DC integration, which was once described as being heavily influenced by the look of Gears of War. Although the darker MK game didn't make it much past early development, Boon assured that the next installment in the series will strive for more blood, more violence, and a hard M-rating. That's good news for all of us, considering we won't get to rip Superman's head and spine from his body this time around. Just save your sadistic fantasies for the next one guys.
