Here's a hot rumor from Comic-Con: The big convention might be leaving San Diego for different climes. Variety is reporting that Los Angeles and Las Vegas are both trying to lure the geek-gathering and pop culture explosion to their respective cities.

It's just gotten too big for the beachside resort town. "We can't accommodate the people we need to," laments Comic-Con marketing director David Glanzer. "(This year) we had a wait list of exhibitors in excess of 300. We sold out before the doors even opened."

As you might expect, San Diego will fight to keep their beloved con in its spiritual home: "Comic-Con is a homegrown, San Diego-born, bred and maintained entity," says Bill Harris, deputy press secretary for San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders. "We have a lot of pride in it....We are going to continue to work with Comic-Con to accommodate their growth needs in any way we can," he says.

The economic impact of the Con is estimated between $40 million and $60 million, so there's a lot riding on where it's held! What do you think: Would Vegas Comic-Con or L.A. Comic-Con be better? Worse? Indifferent?
