Is A 'Top Gun' Sequel Coming?

Fans of jet fighters and barely disguised man-love may be in luck: Rumors are oozing out of the internet about a possible sequel to Top Gun. That's right, Maverick, Iceman, Goose, Flimjob and Crazy Seymore may be back for a new flight. Here's the extent of info about the Top Gun 2: The Legend of Curly's Gold from a British Tabloid:

An insider said: “The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor — and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot.”

Sounds terrific.

This idea has been around since 1986... However, Top Gun is my favorite movie of all time so I'm definitely in for a TG2

There is no making an acceptable sequel to the best movie ever made! I must protest this with all my internet forum might!!!!!

Seriously though, I was practically raised by Top Gun, no movie is ever going to live up to that.

TG is one of my favorite movies and I'm not all for this...

I mean if I ever join the Navy after college, I would only want to be a fighter pilot. and its because of this movie.

Please hollywood, don't ruin one of my childhood favorite movies.

thankfully Batman begins and the dark knight have slowly closed the wound that is Batman and Robin. its still there but...

The closest thing I want to a Top Gun sequel, is the live action Robo Tech or Macross movie.

Those "veritechs" are based straight off an F-14.

my opinion on this is I think it could be cool to have top gun "something" but do NOT use none of the original cast AND the F-14 is dead use the F-22 raptors and this needs real footage not no cgi "stealth" bs

It should have a computer animated jet named "Take-off" or "Bullseye", or something of an alternative life style like that. He/She'll have lots of funky fresh attitude but also be loyal and a good friend underneath. It could be voiced by an accomplished talent like Chris Rock, or Chris Tucker, or even (Insert flavor of the month female R&B recording artist here), or Anthony Hopkins. It'll be fun for the whooooole family... I really wish I could sleep.

I say no top a "Top Gun" sequel because, as everyone knows, the process of making a sequel to a popular film held dear by many people across the globe actually PHYSICALLY ALTERS existing copies on VHS, DVD, DIVX, or other media or rendering them totally changed FOREVER.

[Films preserved on Betamax tapes are immune to this phenomenon.]

Actually...you know what? I cahnged my mind. Sequel, no sequel...all the same to me.

Bull$&it rumor. Imdb.com listed this rumor as originating back after the first film was completed. Cruise didn't want it so he asked for a sum of money that prohibited the film's making. And this is a &*it script, same story f#cking role reversal with a lower budget. At the time the Navy refused to let them film the new aircraft, because the new aircraft still had top secret equipment...at that time.

goose will come back as a zombie and he will fly a zombie jet and shoot zombie missles. skerrit will re appear as a transvestite. tom cruise will come out as gay in the movie (and in real life) and it will be some huge political statement on gays in the military
