Is that it? I was hoping for a little more, but beautiful it is.

KZ2 looks like the best FPS on current-gen consoles so far, hopefully we don't get Hazed again!

no arguements here death for once-this makes gears look like combat on the atari 2600

This. Looks. Awesome.

i can't help but feel that kz2 and r2 both look like typical and predictable first person shooters. cod4 was best in this genre in recent times, plain and simple. games like halo, which take you to different planets and use pretty unique weapons and enemies or gears of war, which is actually a third person shooter, just stand out to me more than these generic fps games out nowadays. i could put these videos up against haze and get the same feeling, or any other generic fps that's been out for both console and pc.

Looks great, but I'm a little worried that the playthru of the game may be too scripted, too easy to get used to (more of like watching cutscenes during battle). Although beautiful, I 'd like to be able to play through it multiple times, and not know that my teammate is going to do this amazing tactical maneuver right around this corner. Other than that little wish.. This game should be stellar. Alot of potential, a AAA title even? *fingers crossed*

From what I remember hearing in one of the videos on here, they were talking about some really great online features. It'd be cool to see some of those in action.

staychisel, all your posts are the same and they are all so transparent. if this was a 360 game you would be on here saying how great it is. you remind of me of a bitter ex girlfriend who claims she over it but won't leave you alone. every ps3 article has you leaving negative comments. it's getting pretty tired.

@superfriar19

The thing with dude, is he explains hisself better than most xbots, but he still has the tendancies of flatout fanboy, and to be honest
MS wishes they had a slew of games people would wait for, but they don't thats why Gear2 is coming out fast, the first one took some time, now they are just going to cookie-cut.
staychisel would be a cool dude, if he were not such a 360 whore.

why do they always have to change how the weapons sound in second versions of a game? i liked the slow chop of the original assault rifle and the low tech screech of the helghan weapons, the new ones sound gay same with the weapons on GoW2

@staychisel

these are typical shooters!!!!! what the hell was Halo 3?????? GTFO

You're just haten because Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 will never go multiplatform/PC.

I never liked shooters but Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 have made me rethink my feelings about the genre, and after the first Resistance, I'm not worried at all. CoD4 actually got me back into FPS.

just like 360 fanboys who hate CoD4 because its on the PS3 as well. CoD4 was way better then Halo 3.

I find it funny how every exclusive that Sony has, it has to "re-invent the wheel" in its genre.

like R&C, where it had too much variety... what BS...

wow liking the minimal hud elements

i stand by my word that this, along with resistance, looks like a typical run and gun with a generic looking assault rifle. the physics, environments, weapons and characters in the halo universe are truly one of a kind. why do you think they are able to make such a strong franchise out of it? i do realize, though, that resistance is an up and coming title for ps3 so good luck with it, but killzone is a game i've personally played over 5 years ago and thought it was complete garbage. still looks the same, nope hope for this title :(

So funny game, you never know how it works in some special ways, just get some new ideas about it on http://multiraciallove.com where more hot games are shown there!

Wow, that looks really good.

@staychisel
I agree with you about COD4, that game is the best in genre. But I think your being just a little bias towards Killzone 2. This game looks really good. We all the know the first one was nothing special, but I am sure you remember a little game called Call of Duty 3. That game rumbled, but then came COD4. As for comment about Resistance, have you even played the game? That game has most the unique weapons in any game I've ever played. I think Halo 3 is the perfect example of generic shooter. I've tried to look that game and I just can't. Everytime I play I just think to myself, why I am not playing Gears of War or Resistance right now?

@myself

Oops
I've tried to like that game and I just can't.

This game will never reach the bar set by Halo.

There is nothing special here.

The same goes for resistance.

If you haven't played Halo, play it and you'll reach that same conlusion.

Posted by Joshua360 - Sunday, July 20, 2008 4:24 PM
The still shot of the game footage illustrates how generic looking a game this is. Just Look at that enemy. You face much more interisting characters in the Halo universe.

And I'd be saying the samething if resistance and ...(sorry I forgot the name of this game and had to scroll to the top of the page to refresh my memor), "KILL ZONE 2" were on the 360.

HAHAHA I honestly did forget. That was funny.

I'm going to go play Halo now, hahah.

Play Halo, PLAY H-A-L-O.

@Joshua360 and Staychisel
Your 360 fanboys, so of course your going to downplay any game on the PS3. No big surprise really. In one ear and out the other.

or IN GOES GATES ON EACH OTHER.

Posted by toetagger07 - Sunday, July 20, 2008 8:05 PM
i have both consoles
HALO is OVERRATED. yes, extremely. it is repetitive and gets boring after a couple levels, the online is crap where you just run around holding the right trigger trying to hit something.
ive never played killzone so i cant judge it but resistance is one of my favorite games of all time, i just wish the online was better. it has the most innovative guns in any game. what did halo have? a machine gun that shot lasers, a machinegun that shot needles, and a machine gun that shot bullets, sniper rifles that do the same, and rocket launchers that are rocket launchers.
im sorry, there was no bar set by halo, and if there was, Counter Strike and Battlefield 2 for PC are standing far above it laughing at the pathetic console wars.

P.S. COD4 beats halo, but BF2 still beats COD4.

Besides visuals, Killzone 2 looks like a boring version of FEAR or Half Life 2. Like I said before , the enemy AI couldn't get a job at McDonalds. The first Killzone looked cool at first just like this, but turned out to be a clunker.

toetagger07 - Halo isn't over rated, too much was expected of it. Over 300,000 people are on Halo 3 daily and it's far from just holding down the right trigger. I, myself don't play it much anymore but it's definately a great game. The only problem with Halo is the loudmouths.
