This is day one of E3 08, and there is a lot on the proverbial plate. Here's a rundown of what you can expect at the convention, brought to you comprehensively on G4 and G4tv.com:
Nintendo's Press Conference (9 AM PST): The first day of E3 is starting off with Nintendo's press event, bright and early. And while no one but Mario knows for sure what the Big N is going to roll out, here are our best guesses: We'd put money on the announcement of a Kid Icarus title for the Wii, and a balance-board enabled version of Punch Out. Animal Crossing Wii seems possible too. There's also that mysterious title Nintendo promised would be geared toward "core" gamers--we don't know what it will be, but we're very curious. Throw in the possible announcement of new peripherals (?) and a lot of casual games, and you have a heck of a press conference. You can watch it on television on G4, where the conference will be broadcast commercial-free, or point your browser to our page for our live web-feed. Yours truly will also be live-blogging from the event, if you prefer reading over watching. In any case, we have you covered.
Sony's Press Conference, (11:30 AM PST): We've heard less rumors about Sony's offerings this year than anyone elses', and that means anything could happen. Some likely scenarios (or best guesses) involve a look at God of War III, more info on PlayStation Home, perhaps a deeper look at Afrika, and maybe Twisted Metal for the PS3. We really can't say for sure, but if you want to know what's up as soon as anyone on the planet, you must tune into G4 at 11:30 AM for out complete, commericial-free broadcast. Or, check it out right here on the web, live streamed and commercial free. We'll be live blogging it too, to keep your bases totally covered, so stay, as they say, tuned!
Ubisoft Press Conference (2:30 PM PST) Ubi's press event will be lived streamed on G4tv.com, and we're hoping for a ton of announcements. Could we see Assassin's Creed 2? We'll bet we learn more about Prince of Persia and HAWX, as well as other perhaps previously unknown titles. No matter what, join us right here for a live stream of the conference.
Capcom (4:30 PM PST) Capcom, fathers of Street Fighter, will surely bring awesomeness in the wake of their press conference. We'll be live blogging all the news from here, as well as bringing you the Capcom trailers, screenshots and news throughout the day, so check back early and check back often. Along with Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, and Bionic Commando, we'll finally get the word on what the mysterious game called "Flock" is. Plus, perhaps Dead Rising 2? Time will tell.
Activision Blizzard (7:30 PM PST) The first press event from the newly conglomerated game giant, we'll be streaming this conference live on our website, so you won't miss a second of the action. We predict biiig things here, look for Wrath of the Lich King details, info on Guitar Hero World Tour, and we expect some huge surprises. Don't miss a second of it.
Live On-Air E3 Coverage: Beginning at 4PM PST, G4 will be broadcasting a huge block of three hours of E3 programming. We're talking hands-ons, demos, developers interviews and way too many exclusives to even list, but rest assured: we'll be bringing you everything the show has to offer, from PC Games, the PS3, to the Wii, to the 360 to iPod gaming and handhelds, if it's at E3, we'll tell you about it and show it to you first!
