QuakeCon 2008 is in the house! Actually it's in a convention center in Dallas, but the point is, it's happening. See below for the list of Quake-related activities going down.

- QUAKE LIVE Championships pro tournament. 1-on-1 tourney and a Capture the Flag Team tourney both valued at the strangely arbitrary $12,500.

- Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Team Championships where teams compete on PC and Xbox 360 a total of $25,000 in prize monies.

- Quick-Draw Challenge where randomly selected QuakeCon 2008 attendees will compete on the QuakeCon main stage for $10,000 in prize money and a chance at entering the "QuakeCon Ultimate Power Up" raffle, which will net someone a brand new 2008 Chevrolet Corvette.

So, it sounds like there will be plenty of Quake things to do at the Quakiest QuakeCon Quaketown in all of Quakesville, USA. Head on down. The Con is in effect July 31 through August 3 and organizers are expecting over 6,000 Quakeheads to be in attendance.
