Did you buy Battlefield: Bad Company? Did you try getting online this weekend? Were you successful? Are you proud of yourself?
EA posted a statement on the official Battlefield: Bad Company website this weekend assuring gamers that they know there are connectivity problems with the online multiplayer aspect of the game, and that they are hard at work on a fix. Two things struck us as interesting about this statement. First of all, it was written in the language of the Bad Company universe, as if it were an order from a superior officer. Hit the jump for the details.
We are aware that some X360 players are having issues connecting to the Bad Company servers. We've been monitoring stats non-stop and are working with several partners to locate any possible flashpoints and eradicate any hostiles we encounter.
Very funny guys. Do I get a purple heart if while trying to set up an online match I got so frustrated I threw my Xbox controller at the wall and it bounced off and smacked me in the eye? Equally as chuckle-worthy is their explination of a temporary fix.
Until we are ready to implement a permanent fix, a possible workaround is to turn off your console for approx. 20 minutes before turning it back on and connecting again.
What a coincidence, 20 minutes is exaclty how long it takes me to forget about the game I was currently playing and move on to something else. Just kidding EA, we're sure you're all hard at work to get everything running smooth. We'll keep you abreast of the situation as it develops; just make sure you don't go AWOL in the meantime.
