iPhone, iPod Touch To Get iTunes Remote App

Posted June 27, 2008 - By Patrick Roche-Sowa

We all know about the new features of the second generation iPhone, but what about the new version of iTunes? Well apparently developers recieved copies of iTunes version 7.7 this morning, and the installer encourages iPhone and iPod Touch users to "use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home -- a free download from the App Store." Engadet guesses it will use WiFi to hook up to your mainframe so you can remotely DJ the media on your Mac. Sounds pretty sweet. Let's hope most of the other apps we get on July 11th are just as cool. Which one would hope and expect, considering Apple just released the iPhone SDK beta 8 and is accepting applications to the App Store.
