According to reports, Sony is developing a 'break-apart' controller for the PS3 that will have some of the motion-sensing functionality of the Wii's controls. Apparently, this technology has already been offered to developers who are interested in working with Sony to make games that will use the controller.

There's no mention yet of when we can expect to see such a thing, but the fact that Sony is working on it pretty much acknowledges that they are tucking their tail between their legs with the SIXAXIS and are heading back to the drawing board.
