I Like this, th new drum kit looks to be an improvment over the last, and hopefull GH:OT will NOT be 169.99! ...second!

Ok people no more acryonyms, that sucked

I'm excited about the changes to the Guitar Hero franchise, but the question that lingers and is the 500 lb. gorilla in the room: Will the drums work with Rock Band, and will the Rock Band Drums work with Guitar Hero IV?

Posted by sjohnson - Thursday, May 29, 2008 8:38 AM

I'm guessing nope, Ted. But it's only a guess.

Pretty cool game drums from Redoctane as expected. However, unless my Rock Band drums all of a sudden disappears, and unless the GH:WT drums actually work on Rock Band, then I'm not getting it.

Game only version for me at this point.

I still think that the game will end up being poorly designed, but I'll give them credit: They're making things interesting.

Stewart Copeland ftw.

This is actually A LOT better than I thought it would be. At first I thought GH was just trying to copy RB, but they really improved on their design - i mean hell they wiped the floor with it! "Velocity sensitive" drums? Totally wireless and seems to not be a pain the @$$ to set up.

I'm not saying Rock Band will be replaced or even that GHWT will SUCCEED. What I am saying is that if GH keeps this up, it will mean serious competition for RB. RB will either equal/top GH, or become a one-hit wonder.

I didn't know Will Farrel played the drums.

Posted by BONERJAM - Thursday, May 29, 2008 10:14 AM

@cmdluke

LOL, my girlfriend and I have been saying that for years.

Posted by joeyg143 - Thursday, May 29, 2008 10:32 AM

God, that guy does look like Will Ferrel.

Posted by Majin_Neo - Thursday, May 29, 2008 11:23 AM

It doesnt look that bad actually. Im not jumping out to reserve it but it sounds pretty cool with the new drums. But I wouldve liked if they would have played the drums pretty hard cause Im afraid that the top two buttons will break they didnt look super sturdy.

Posted by LostBelmont - Thursday, May 29, 2008 11:43 AM

The drums look awsome. It's going to be a lot better to play than the rock band drums. Actually having cymbals will make it so much more realistic. The rock band drums were just awkward.

I'm hoping now that the guitars don't look like the rock band guitars. I hated RB's guitars with a passion. Their the reason I never bought the game.

still if they make you buy a new guitar for gh i done with the series.

Posted by techdude50 - Thursday, May 29, 2008 12:34 PM

@LostBelmont: the only problem i had with RB's guitars was how the buttons and the strum bar were mushy instead of a clicky thing guitar hero had, most of the time i wasn't sure if i was strumming like i was suposed to or not and all of my friends agreed, but eventually we got used to it
and on a side note, i want the next guitar contollers to look like B.C. Rich warlocks (which is what i actually play) cause their designs are just awesome

Hmmmmmmmm....interesting. I had negative hopes for this and thought that it was a copy of rock bands.

My hopes for it have risen for it looks better than rock bands.

It still looks like a copy of rock bands drum, but it is more advanced. Which is good.

Have to say though that it looks like alot of fun.

Posted by JuliousRinsteel - Thursday, May 29, 2008 3:08 PM

Is it just me, or does he look like Will Ferrel?

Posted by MattCo - Thursday, May 29, 2008 3:13 PM

So I wonder how much the paid them to say how great the drums were, but not actually show the drums being played by them.

Posted by IMr_GrimI - Thursday, May 29, 2008 8:17 PM

wow i wanna sound even cooler-er

Posted by Carpeljet - Friday, May 30, 2008 5:27 AM

yeah...whats up with that being a drum demo with no video of someone actualy playing the drums. fail.

Posted by Zack_the_Maniac - Friday, May 30, 2008 7:29 AM

Ricky Bobby is damn good at playing drums!

Posted by xinim - Friday, May 30, 2008 9:07 AM

Posted by jburns53581 - Sunday, June 1, 2008 10:22 AM

gimme sturdy double bass pedals and I'll be happy.

Posted by Slayer_Ben3 - Sunday, June 1, 2008 10:24 AM

My guess is that these Drums will not work with Rock Band. Neither will the Rock Band with this Game. But, I don't have Rock Band and I'd rather not go out and buy the whole thing at this moment with this coming out. The drums look really awesome. And i think this game will kick ass. I just hope that theres some Foo Fighters and Nirvana on it.....
