Uh oh.

Now, I’m not saying System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian isn’t mucho talented. He is. No doubt. But somehow the news that he’s working on a musical called Prometheus Bound based on the classic Greek tragedy scares me.

Tankian has already finished eight songs for the show, in which he is collaborating with Tony Award-winning playwright Steven Sater, who worked with Duncan Sheik on the Broadway hit Spring Awakening.

"It's got this amazing ancient Greek verse thing going on with this cool electronic hyperspace rock,” Sater told Spinner.com. “It's unlike anything you've heard."

Sater said that the show will probably open in Boston first before a New York production is attempted, with an album also in the works. He thinks the show could bring a different audience to see a musical, explaining, "I just saw (Tankian) in concert, that audience was amazing...I think it will open up really different things for both of us. It's a really exciting collaboration."

Who knows. Maybe it will be great. But I just can’t help thinking of Sebastian Bach in Jesus Christ Superstar and Paul Stanley in Phantom of the Opera. Eeeewwwww!
