Prepare yourself for the apocalypse, people….Microsoft just announced they will be introducing ads to its Zune platform.
Yes, during the Advance '08 advertising conference a Microsoft rep confirmed that the Zune will now promote corporate sponsorships of celebrity playlists, with the "ad" being consigned to branding on that musician's Social card . Of course, you have to have “friended” the artist to see the playlist as per the prevailing MySpace mindset.
Microsoft also promises they will keep the ads appropriate for the audience…so thankfully kiddies won’t get more adult themed ads and I won’t have to sit trough anything NOT filled with disgusting profanity, filth and degredation. They will be offering that kind of stuff, won’t they…?
