The latest expansion to the World of Warcraft, Wrath of the Lich King, will be out in 2008. Blizzard dropped the news in an otherwise number-laden financial report.
Here's the text:
Very good operating achievements were offset by non recurring or calendar impacts: the first quarter of 2007 included notably the successful launch of the first expansion set World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade (the second expansion set is anticipated to be released in the second half of 2008)
We're guessing a holiday release is in the cards for the expansion, but we wonder, like all awesome things, the preeminence of WOW must end, so we ask you: Has Warcraft jumped the shark? Still grinding, or have you given up your Night Elf in favor of other pastures?
