Fraggle Rock Flick A-Go-Go

The long-awaited film version of Jim Henson’s ‘80s show Fraggle Rock is finally moving full steam ahead.

Announced over a year ago, the adaptation is being developed by The Weinstein Co. as a live-action feature musical to be written and directed by Edwards (Hoodwinked!) will direct and write the screenplay. The Jim Henson Co. will produce, and actor/rocker Ahmet Zappa is executive producing. 

Like the HBO TV show, the movie will feature a mix of human characters and puppets. Stars Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober, and Red will travel outside their cave home for the film and interact with humans, which they think are aliens.

Fraggle Rock debuted in 1983 and ran five seasons. IThe first three seasons have been released on DVD and are selling quite well…

I wonder if Traveling Matt will make an appearance. Or the Doozers. Or the Gorgs. Or Doc and Sprocket. Is the actor that played Doc even alive now?

This sounds like it could be great.
