Next Call of Duty Details Revealed

Speaking during a conference call yesterday, Activision Publishing CEO and president Mike Griffith dropped a few tantalizing details about the next Call of Duty game.

The unnamed sequel will arrive on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS later this year, and it looks like it won't be set in World War II, the series' go-to setting.

Why the DS and not the Wii? Same went for call of duty 4. The DS version wasn't that bad but they never bothered with a Wii version. We need some good 3rd party titles and Call of Duty is one of them. Come on Activision.

Why the DS and the PS2? Are they serious? This move better not hinder the performance of the PS3 and the 360.

Regardless of who is developing COD5(Treyarch or Activision) my eyes are planted squarely on Gears of War 2 and they were planted on Resistance 2 that is until my PS3 broke(The screen flickered on and off).The point is unless COD5 does something to wow my eyes like they did last year,Then my eyes will remain planted on the game that got me to buy an xbox 360 in the first place...Gears of War 2.

@SuperSmitty11... OMG YES! Seriously when/why did people give up on the glory that was the Red Faction 1 destructible environments!? It added SO MUCH to gameplay and I've been missing it ever since!

Treyarch is developing COD5. Activision is the owner of the COD name and they had Infinity Ward do the last one and treyarch do this next one.

I'm sure it'll be a good game like COD3 but not be anywhere near groundbreaking as 4. This is just to give fans their COD fix until infinity ward can release COD6 in '09

I hope the releasing it on PS2 and DS don't hinder the graphical splender that it is on the 360 and PS3. If it does, this game will fail epically. If they release on the multi generation, they better release them with the proper graphics for the proper system.

The fact that Call of Duty 5 is coming to the Playstation 2 (something i really didn't expect to happen at all) is AWESOME because i can't buy the PS3 just yet and i hope offline as well as online multiplayer is available for the the Great PS2 version ,you feel me? I predict this next installment of Call of Duty is definitely going to be GREAT just like all of the previous installments,you feel me?

man to everyone who says cod 3 sucks, maybe tank battles big games maps that arnt right outa the SP and to the dude wh said he hopes the DS and PS2 version doesnt mess up the PS3 and 360 version i hope they dont mess the PC version up. 8vs8 games that is like a playing around game on the PC not a battle

(Though if you include a lot of Frenchies, the game goes from a FPS to more of a horror game)

I agree. COD3 was horrible compared to COD2.

Treyarch just doesn't have a knack for good natural human movement. Look at their Spider-Man games. Looks too fake. IW are a bunch of gods when it comes to this stuff.

COD5 batter have some fresh gear. Stuff like corner-shot and the Osprey.

I have been playing a lot of gta but COD4 is still the best game on the market. And I really cannot wait for another GTA as long as it is in modern times. It would be stupid for them to go back to wwII after the sucess of COD4. I think COD5 could make just or at least come close to making the same as GTA.
