Among all the thugs, low-lifes and Mafia Dons Grand Theft Auto IV protagonist Niko Bellic murders, his biggest crime of all may be the slaying of the Nintendo Wii.
According to Forbes.com (by way of kotaku), the Wii may suffer in sales because Grand Theft Auto IV is not on the console and games of its scope would be impossible on the Wii anyway. The idea is that with the entire country basically undergoing Grand Theft Auto mania, not many people will be jazzed to buy a Wii and rock Carnival Games while the neighbors are playing GTA.
"If [gamers] care more about high-definition, or they care about online, or they care about more graphically rich immersive games, they're going to consider a 360 or Playstation 3," analyst Michael Pachter told Forbes, which seems like common knowledge to us.
But on the other hand, the markets for Grand Theft Auto IV and Mario Kart Wii are so vastly different, we wonder whether sales of GTA will even affect would-be Wii owners.
