Oh, how the mighty have fallen. French gaming entity Infogrames have purchased the remainder of ailing former powerhouse Atari for $11 million, just to keep the name alive. When you think about it, $11 million isn't all that much money. Heck, Kobe Bryant could have purchased Atari with a single check.
And how much cooler would that have been? We have no idea what Infogrames has in mind for the name, but Kobe would likely have resurrected Yars' Revenge or something. And that would have been awesome. Oh, well. What might have been. Que cera, cera, as our French friends at Infogrames would say.
