Blockbuster Going Gaming

Posted April 29, 2008 - By Stephen Johnson

We still remember renting Superman 64 at our local Blockbuster and being sooooo happy we didn't buy the thing, but now the movie rental palace is getting into selling games and hardware.

The new focus of their stores will be selling consoles, having a greater selection of games and accessories for sale and otherwise go after a videogaming market.

To kick things off, Blockbuster is offering an exclusive 40GB PS3 bundle with the Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray Disc, a PS3 remote, Transformers (the game) and a rental card giving purchasers a free PS3 game / BD rental per week for 12 weeks. It's $499.99 which actually sounds like a great deal to us. But what about you?

Would you buy games from Blockbuster?
