XBox Live Casting Original Production

Posted by Mike D'Alonzo - Monday, April 21, 2008 9:24 AM

While we've known for a while that XBox Live was getting into the business of original production, we now know a little more about what they have in mind. James Gunn (Dawn of the Dead, Slither) is casting for an original XBox Live production, according to a post on casting website Actors Access. According to the casting notice, the show will be an XBox Live production, to air on the platform, and it will shoot in late May.

The show is being described as something in the vein of Wonder Showzen and South Park, and will feature "the wacky adventures of a group of friends." Even more encouraging is the fact that one of the parts being cast is "Girl in Bikini," who is described, simply, as "super hot, good with comedy," and the all-important "MUST LOOK GREAT IN BIKINI."

Where do we sign up?

Where do you sign up, Mike? For being the "bikini girl"? I'll pass on the movie, thanks.

this is why i don't pay for Live. all i want out of a consoles online service is playing games and demos. thats it. no movies, no tv shows(original or otherwise)to download, none of it.

ms makes all this available through Live. now you don't have the hard drive space to save games anymore because you downloaded a bunch of family guy and south park episodes(that you have seen 1000 times and could have watched for free on the internet). now you have to buy a bigger, way overpriced, hard drive from ms that is still not enough space for all the crap ms tries to sell you on Live. so ms makes a slightly bigger hard drive, also overpriced, and puts even more content of live to make sure you fill it up. it's a self-perpetuating cycle of greed.

@neonchez

So if all you want is games & demos, what do you think of Home?

@bleahy

not all that exited about Home. i like the idea, but i would never use it. unless there is some feature that i don't know about(or a feature sony has not announced yet)i think Home would be a big waste of time. and a waste of money if for those that spend real money on clothes, furniture and other items for their avatars and apartments.

I have to say that Sony deserves props for (so far) providing free services to its customers. The worst things that have come to console gaming in the last half decade have been the Wii (no offense Nintendo) and downloadable content. I hate the thought of forking out more dough for new maps for my shooters when i've already dropped the 60 for a game. If i didn't have to pay for Live then i'd have nothing to complain about, but add the other 60 for the online service and damn straight i'm going to pirate my music off the net.
3 cheers for the PSN and 3 cheers for Home.
