Velvet Revolver Hits Web For New Singer

Posted by Frank Meyer - Friday, April 18, 2008 2:32 PM

Recently singerless supergroup Velvet Revolver is creating a website to audition for the open position left by Scott Weiland.

The new site will help Velvet Revolver replace the troubled frontman, who was kicked out on the eve of his reunion with former band Stone Temple Pilots.

"The band is actually talking about actually building a website [and] doing some auditions via that, so that's been something that's developing at this point," Slash explains, adding that it should be up "in the next month or so."

In the meantime, Velvet Revolver has an upcoming gig in Las Vegas, which was booked before Weiland's exit, that Slash says will feature friends of the band taking turns at the microphone.

"I'm not gonna name any names, but a bunch of well-known people will get up and sing some songs, and then also bring up a couple people that we think are pretty good and might sing a couple songs," he says. "So it'd just be for fun."

…um…Axl anyone?

Sweet now ABC can run a 2nd season for that oh so wonderful show that Dave Navarro hosted (it was sooooo bad that I've forgotten both the name of the show and the "supergroup")

Did that band even succeed in making an album (the D.N. band not V.R. who I also didn't care for)

it would be the 3rd show actually, and Yes Rockstar INSX, and then there was another one with Gilby Clarke (Izzy's replacement in GNR)

Rockstar: INXS
Rockstar: SuperNova

Rockstar: Velvet Revolver? I'd tune in.

Dude that website thing is moronic. They're gonna get abunch of no talent sending in videos. Just find someone from a broken up band or some old legend.

It was on CBS, not ABC. I liked it better than American Idol.

Frank, Axl and Slash aren't at each others throats anymore, All the Ex members said they would do a reunion when the time was right.

Desperation is a stinky cologne.

You know what would be Killer? If they just didn't make music anymore.

i agree with Theedandyandy. even if they didn't have issues anymore with each other (i though they did, thanks Dadud for filling me in.)i HATE bands who don't just play the old stuff and try to repeat the successes of history. if they all got back together for a tour then cool, but for a new album; i would have no interest. do what other modern bands do. go on Hiatus, and each member have a solo career doing new styles they want to venture into with there own band or even solo. then come back together ever 4 or 5 years for a tour.
