Rowling Fighting 'Potter' Pirates

Posted April 14, 2008 - By Mike D'Alonzo

J.K. Rowling has nothing against fans of Harry Potter, and people who establish Potter fan sites, but she wants those who are egregiously stealing her intellectual property to stop, and is testifying in court to that effect. The writers of the Harry Potter Lexicon have published a book, which is contrary to the laws of such lexicons, which are customarily extensions of the writer's work, and not new works of fiction.

Rowling thinks, in this case, that it's not the same thing, and she's suing them to show she means business. Of course, we know she means business...she's the queen of the book business these days, and is surely creeping up on being a billionaire.
