There seems to be some confusion over the release of Metal Gear Solid 4, the two versions, and the hardware bundles. Sony was kind enough to detail everything you'd ever want to know about this upcoming release.
We already covered the box-art reveal as well as pricing/goodies on the Limited edition, but here's the scoop on the two (2!) hardware bundles.
First, the Standard Edition hardware bundle, pictured above, will include an 80GB (backwards compatible) PS3, the Standard Edition of MGS4, and a DualShock 3 controller all for $500.

The big news is that Sony is "confirming that there will be a North America offering of this VERY, VERY Limited Edition bundle! This is the “gunmetal grey” PS3" that is so popular in Japan. There are no additional details yet.
Finally, regarding Metal Gear Online, Sony wants to assure us that this is not a demo or teaser. It is a full featured multiplayer game that will be expanded through DLC. That is what it's being referred to as a "Starter Pack".
Gamers that want to participate in the beta, which runs from April 21 - May 5, will have to go pre-order the game right now from GameStop. They will receive the Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD, which includes the beta invite.
I will pretty much be on the beta non-stop while it's running so add my PSN tag: "empathe". I expect an elite team of awesomeness, so suit up and I'll see you on April 21.

i agree w/you, and i bet you have a 360. you seem understanding, but you need to know something. Bluray IS a very nice piece of tecnology. MGS4 will take up an entire data bluray profile disc, the equivalent of 13 xbox discs... or about 4 HD-DVD's. You should go out and get this because HOME (if you haven't heard of it, go to wikipedia and gametrailers.com to find the true information about it) is going to redefine online, with a Second life type style that actually doesn't suck life secondlife, and it is coming VERY soon.
And i am neither a sony nor a microsoft fanboy, but i know quality and perfection... the ps3 will one day, next year or even five from now, obtain that.
I don't officially have a PS3, but my brother does. I don't live with him. So I would have to go to his house. I might just get that bundle.
I Appreciate the gesture in letting me know about the specs and whats to come, but I very much dislike the Bluray, because I love movies and the movie feel or that grainy look... for example: I own I am legend on DVD and I've seen the same movie in Blu and I can't stand the "home video" look of it. IMO I don't need that look for my movies maybe Docs or home videos but not film, now I don't know how it may work for games but that's a different discussion... and to answer your other question yes I do own a 360, and a PS1, Game Cube, SNES, NES, N64, Atari 2600, Xbox, Genesis, so I love games and I've never been more satisfied than with my 360 since launch, but my question was is it worth ONE game? it's not bashing the system, it's being more realistic, cause I fell for that sell before, and I don't want to waste my time again... also I don't do xbox live either no need for it.

Its a choice to make. I got my PS3 mostly because my old tv died and i upgraded my tv to HDTV and i wanted to have the choice of playing both my old dvds abd the new blueray discs. So far i only have ratchet and clank to play with, but i have played many dvds. So its just back to seeing if you need to really play the game or just like to watch movies and on how much money you want to spend.

Where in the hell do you get these stupid facts. That mgs4 is going to use up a whole blue ray disc. Did u read it on some forum lol. There is no way, anytime soon that we will use a full blue-ray disc. Unless i am mistaken and the single player is 15 days long. I own a ps3 and i love it for blue-ray. I doubt mgs4 will use even half. Although it is a great game and it couldnt be fit on a 360 disc.
I guess that's what I was trying to get at, because I'm definitely upgrading my T.V.'s, but as for a DVD format I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon... don't care for them movies like Ratatouille look like a video game and Pirates looks like a home video on blu-ray, I like the way the movies look on film. It all just seems unappealing to me I don't know how anyone else feels about that here... I guess I'm alone on that one. As for for the same format working for video games I need to see more cause I haven't been impressed with the PS3 since it launched, I don't care for HOME or it's capacity of storage no offense to anyone... I like Metal Gear and if it's not coming to the 360 is it worth buying a PS3 for it? cause lets face it that's gonna be the only game I play on that system, and I don't want to wait a couple years for another great old school game.

yes, this game is using all 50GB of a blu-ray disc. he had to cut some minor details just to make it fit. yeah, its hard to believe, but hey, would you expect anything less from MGS? oh, maybe you think or want to think that its not possible so you can cling onto the hope of a 360 release, which isnt happening. lol.

I hope u werent serious because the 360 couldnt ever handle a game like this. With my newfound info that metal gear is 50gb on a disc, then the 360 would need to put the game on 10 different discs since each one holds 5gb. unless they use double layer which will still make it 5 discs. So good luck on the inevitable part.

I tried Twin Snakes, but I didn't like it. I put it down very quickly. It's too slow for me. Same thing with Splinter Cell. I still own them because I never do away with my games once I buy them. Maybe I'll give it another try.

1. it takes devs 2 years to make great games. ( a good reason the 360 saw alot of good exclusives last year)
2. The PS3 has sold more units in the same time frame @ a higher cost and lack of games as you put it.
3. the PS3 is a better built system than the 360, less problems.
4. MSG4 is just one game you may not care about but millions do, it a system seller for the PS3, I could give a damn about Halo ( hust saying).
5. When I do post a list it is a list of great titles coming out this year (two years after the launch of the PS3 to prove a point), and you havent even seen E3 yet.

I give the PS3 a year. Ive played all the metal gear solid games, just I won't buy a console for one game. I waited until there were at least five games out for the 360 before i got it.

First, there is no argument that the ps3's hardware is superior to the 360's. Any person with a small amount of gray matter knows that.
Second, I won't get into an argument with you about wich system is better, because there is no end to that discussion. Remember, better hardware does not necessarily mean better system.
Third, your last post directed to me is one more of your lies. I say that because, even though you know what postings I'm talking about, and even though your claims above are for the most part valid, you try to make me look bad by posting something that's unrelated to my claim. MG is a recognizable and established franchise that appeals to many gamers. stealth games owe a lot to MG and if you dont like this type of game play, its a shame cuz you probably didnt give it a fair chance.

Whenever I want to play a game on the 360, I don't have to look too hard. There are plenty of choices, and since I didn't own an original xbox, my choices become even greater. I don't mind playing an old game if it's worth it, Ninja Gaiden Black being a perfect example.

Some people really don't like it. I am one of them, my brother too, and he is a die hard playstation fan. The same goes for Halo. I played Halo 3 for about 2 hours. I own it and it's just sitting there.
See I have a Job so I went and bought BOTH also a Wii and psp/PC/DS cuz I like games and since they ALL have things the other doesnt to fully enjoy all aspects you need all but I am a serious gamer that really likes certian games and cant not play them.. and if you not like that and your hapy with what youve got ,who cares what others prefer and y they do screw em! and if you want something more try your best to do something about it.
Also I have the same grainy prob with blu ray I dont have the expansion for the 360 to try it in HD but I thought my HDTV was just messed up a bit cuz my ps3 and 360 HD games arnt grainy at all I wonder if any of you out ther know Y this is... The point i was simply making which JTHMROCKS validated is that a system takes time to mature and get quality games (the 360 started last year the PS3 starting this year). The 360 advantage was that it came out early, had no competition and it was the first Next Gen out. the list of games He pointed out one sold very very well the other were lack luster. MS gained alot from a head start which now doesnt matter much anymore.
MGS4 is going to be a good game it will sell whether you buy it or not, might not be your type of game but its hyped for a reason. Halo 3 sold 8 million copies yet their are about 20 million 360 out in the world (500,000 who probably still play it), which means 12 million + people could give a damn about it. if You dont like MSG4 point taken but there are millions who do and alot who are gonna pick up the PS3 for this. So stop with the no games, thats last year.
FYI it will probably not come to 360 because there is so much content that they are scrapping thing to fit it on Blu-Ray. Maybe if that capacity ever come to Xbox... but probably not.
