Battlefield Heroes, the upcoming free-to-play game from EA and DICE, could be looking at a total map count of... two.
In an interview with Gamasutra, senior producer Ben Cousins said, "Yeah, absolutely. I mean, what we did is, we come to this from two angles. The first one is that in every Battlefield game, we bust our asses making 50 maps, and then within six months of the game being released, everyone's playing two maps. The two best maps. So, we just decided to make just the two best maps, and not the other kind of maps."
We guessing it will be free-to-play, but end up with a lot of DLC and microtransactions. We're already beginning to see this strategy with Battlefield: Bad Company and their guns for purchase.
Well, at least the game itself will be free and not require you to buy anything extra. It looks pretty, too.
