'Home' Beta Going Public Soon

According to leaked images from the May issue of the Official PLAYSTATION Magazine, the Home Beta should be available to the public "very soon."

The quote came from the Senior Director of the PSN, Susan Panico.

Personally, I remain skeptical, but am definitely eager to see what it has to offer.

oh yeah... I forgot about that idiot.... my god I even own a X-box360 also and even I raged on the PS3 before I got one but even I notice the PS3 is looking like a good buy. which is why I am a proud owner of one

The Home is just a cheap knock off of the Wii's Mii channel. There is no way this can compete with the Mii's long live the Mii's f.ck Sony and whoever owns a PS3 (including me)

I got an email from Sony asking if I wanted to be a Beta tester and no I can't give out any information other then what is already known.There's a disclosure agreement I had to agree to otherwise I would. Sorry

it's basically an interface where you can meet people, form parties, play minigames, join up for actual games, make customized virtual spaces, get additional game content, etc. there are also rumors that home will be the app that launches PSN movie downloads(who cares?) and access to things like music servers. basically, it's gonna be awesome.

I'm one of the many PS3 owners with zero interest in Home. WTF does it do? Anything but keep Sony from helping get more games on the shelves? Stupid as hell I say.

I assume the few that use it will have an extra excuse as to why PS3 is better than 360, but we're already far beyond that craploaf without goofy extras like this. Buy a Wii, buy a PS3. If you own a PC too there will not be a single thing you'll miss.

The purpose of Home is to network with other people and talk about games, not to mention play them as well. say you want to know about a game, you go to a publisher's Home space, for example, you go into Konami's Home space and see what they have. Heck you can also organize a gameplan for that online game you always get pwned in, Warhawk utilizes this feature, read about it. not to mention of course, for those PS3 owners who want to be acheivement whores, there you go, thats included in Home as well. How do I know this, cause Im a well informed Beta tester as well.

So it's pretty much useless if you know where to get info online. I thought as much. The PS3 would be hugely better off with a wider selection of games instead of trash like a BR player, Home, and these media features which can be done more easily on PC. And no, achievements are quite useless too. Shoulda left that BS where it belongs.

I'm thinking this will be pretty huge.... I mean what's the best selling PC franchise of all time..... Sims..... There are a ton of people that are very much into this type of interaction... and if they keep it simple for those that don't want to interact.... (which doesn't make much sence) to get into the games they want and get all there acheivement points... then this is good.... It could be an epic fail... but I'm anticipating it will do so well that XBL will have to develope something similar... but they'll charge of course... lol

Ok maybe i've been working to much but I have no idea what the hell this Home thing is, exactly. From what I've seen it just looks like Second Life on PS3. Please, some one tell me it's not just Second Life on PS3.
