Radiohead Fans Remix Rainbows

Posted April 1, 2008 - By Frank Meyer

Alt-rock gods Radiohead is teamed with iTunes and GarageBand for an interactive project which allows fans to rework the second single from In Rainbows, "Nude."

Utilizing the Internet again to promote In Rainbows, the band is selling five separate tracks from the recording -- bass, voice, guitar, strings/effects and drums -- from iTunes Plus for remixers to use as tools. The customer is then sent an access code to complete the task via the GarageBand or Logic music production software.

Finished mixes can be uploaded to Radioheadremix.com, where fans have until May 1 to listen and vote for their favorite. You can even create a widget for their personal Web profile that will tally votes toward the competition.
