One of the most striking things about Wii scuba-diving game Endless Ocean is the music that accompanies it. The lady behind that haunting voice is New Zealander Hayley Westenra. This 20 year-old soprano has a magical set of pipes that fits so well with Endless Ocean you would have thought these songs were written for the game.
Endless Ocean features nine songs from the angelic voiced Westenra, all of which are available on iTunes. So for those of you brave enough to put something so pretty on your iPods next to your playlists of illicitly downloaded Swedish death metal, here is a do-it-yourself soundtrack list to make your own Endless Ocean portable listening experience.
Prayer (Title track)
River of Dreams
Hine e Hine
The Water is Wide
E Pari Ra
Let’s be honest though because I’m doubting many of you guys are going to be listening to Hayley Westenra (drooling over her is more likely), so TheFeed wants to hear what your exploitation of the custom soundtrack feature for this game is. Here are ten songs we would put on an SD card to make a swimmingly cool Endless Ocean custom soundtrack. See if you can spot the double entendre laced song that doesn’t really fit in save for its name. In no particular order:
Hanoi Rocks: Underwater World
The Beatles: Octopus’s Garden
Burning Sensations: Belly of the Whale
Bruce Dickinson: Dive! Dive! Dive!
The B-52’s: Rock Lobster
Black Sabbath: Children of the Sea
The Surf Punks: Shark Attack
John Williams: The theme from Jaws
Squirrel Nut Zippers: Under the Sea
Honorable mention: Bobby Darin: Beyond the Sea. If it were not for the fact that this oldie is now inextricably linked in our minds to Bioshock, it would have also made the dive team. Now we want to hear what your custom soundtrack for this scuba diving sim would be. Post your lists in the Comments.
