'Supreme Commander' Delayed for 360

Posted by Brian Leahy - Monday, March 24, 2008 4:12 PM

Unfortunately, the Xbox 360 version of Supreme Commander has just been delayed. The game, which hoped to introduce 360 gamers to the RTS game was looking good and seemed to work nicely with the controller.

Here's the official word:

"Aspyr has been working feverishly with partners Gas Powered Games and Hellbent Games to put the finishing touches on the Xbox 360 version of Supreme Commander. Recently, after a thorough assessment, we decided that it would be in the best interest of the product to delay the launch. This small delay will put the game on store shelves later this spring or early summer."

360 has plenty of RTS games. This isn't the first. Oh, and 360 has had its share of delayed games.

@Warheart1188,

Introduce 360 gamers to this RTS game, not the genre.

Supreme Commander is a tech-pushing game as it is.. doesn't surprise me that it was pushed. It took high-end pc's to run it anyways. Universe at War is still coming this week along with other RTS titles so it isn't that big a deal. Just don't release games not ready (ahem.. Army of Two). I don't mind waiting as long as it works and makes it worth the wait.

I like this it is the Blizzard approach release a game when it is ready and you have less problems.

Yes the 360 does have delays and yet the PS3 has even more. Plus it is always best to not rush a product and make sure that the game is at it's best.
