Gnarls Barkley Get Odd Early

Gnarls Barkley's sophomore album, The Odd Couple, hit iTunes three weeks early when it arrived yesterday. Originally due out April 8, The Odd Couple will hit retail later this week via Downtown/Atlantic.

Why the push up (so to speak)?

Because it leaked online last week and the label decided to get proactive and get busy, that’s why!

In fact, Billboard says stores are being encouraged to sell the CD as soon as their shipments arrive, which could be as soon as tomorrow.

"They felt the timing was right to just go for it," reads a post on Gnarls Barkley's Web site. "With the shifting seasons, furtive romantic entanglements and fierce college basketball rivalries, the latter half of March can be confusing. People need to be soothed and inspired now."

Damn straight we do!
