'Bioshock 2' Confirmed

The sequel (or will it be a prequel??) to blockbuster game Bioshock has been confirmed today in Take-Two Interactive's financial filing released today.

No details about the title have been revealed, but it is being developed at 2K Marin studio and is slated for a release sometime between August 1 and October 31, 2009.

Here's what the official statement said:

"2K Games said today that BioShock 2, the sequel to the wholly owned and internally developed title, is being developed by 2K Marin and is planned for release in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. The critically acclaimed BioShock title has sold over 2 million units worldwide since its launch in August."

Uggg :( I was hoping that System Shock 3 would be green litted with bioshocks success, I just hope we get a system shock 3 next.

One question -What the hell will it be about ?!In the end of the game Jack either brings chaos on earth,or he sets the little sisters free to start a new life on earth .Will it be about ?

Ok that's great news, but it wil be by the 2K Marin team?? What have they done? Bioshock was done by 2K Boston and 2K Australia (Irrational Games), so if they are not the ones working on the sequel will it even be worth playing??

I'm excited for a chance to play more Bioshock, but I can't help but have a negative feeling about the change in development teams.

2 million doesn't seem like much for what a good game it was. I'd like to see it be a prequel with the Ryan vs. Fontain turf war. I don't know how they'd make a twist though.

Bioshock 2 cant be an easy idea, atleast not with two alternative endings. That's like making an I Am Legend sequel (which WB thinks is a GREAT idea!)

sweet, Bioshock 2? lets hope they make it more into the future or make mulitplayer. But keep it on the 360 plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and not any other systems)

Who says that the areas of Rapture in the game was all that there was? Other areas and other survivors might have made it out of Rapture. But I definately want to see outdoor exploration being possible and some type of Sub-mariner Plasmid.

Yeah I agree Lavat

After playing that game it would be rediculous to try to make a multiplayer out of it. If they did do that I couldn't imagine it being any good. This game was a single player experience(and a damn good one at that) and it should stay that way.

Hopefully you can do something in this one besides kill. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing game. But all there is to really do is kill everyone you come in contact with. There are a variety of ways to do it, but in that environment there could be so much more besides combat. Part 2 should be a prequel and take place before the fall of Rapture. I'd like to see the main character be a cop that is tired of the corruption and starts to figure out what is coming. Then he tries to get he and his family out before Ryan locks the place down. And hopefully someone will turn on the lights this time.

That last guy obviously didn't play the hacking mini-games! Besides 99% of video games are just combat. I am pumped about the sequel!!!

ya this time im gona get it on my 360 because pc and vista = peice of shttt but hopfuly it is multi system because my xbox 360s have broken twice
