Anonymous Posting To Be Illegal?

If a Kentucky lawmaker has his way, anonymous posting on the internet will be illegal.

Tim Couch filed a bill this week that would require anyone who contributes (read comments) to a website to register their real name, address and e-mail address with the site. So a full name would be used anytime a comment is posted. Hear that, MegaManRulz332? Your days of tormenting me anonymously are over!

Anyway, the bill, which is crazy unconstitutional (and I should know because I taught Constitutional Law at Yale for over 14 years) would fine website operators  five-hundred dollars for a first offense and one-thousand dollars for each offense after that.

Couch says he filed the bill in hopes of cutting down on online bullying, which is, apparently, really bad in Kentucky. I'm guessing Couch really filed the bill because he got butt-hurt after someone on a message board called him a re-re or a nub.
