Rubber Made of Urine Can Heal Itself

Would you use a rubber product that could mend itself if it broke? How about if we told you that one of the key components of this special type of rubber was urea, which is a chemical found in urine?

Still excited? We didn't think so.

Anyway, this pee rubber can reform bonds between broken pieces if held together and doesn't require any external energy to self-repair (this is the real breakthrough).

After repairing, the rubber retains its flexibility and after 24 hours it can stretch fully.
