Commodore 64 On The Wii

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Thursday, February 21, 2008 10:22 AM

Older gamer cats all remember the Commodore 64 fondly: Even though everyone had an Atari 2600 in their living room, the 'leet rocked C64s.

Now Nintendo is bringing the C64 fun back, adding the computer to the rasher of consoles whose games you can download from the Wii's virtual console.

Check this out:

Fun, right? That's Karate and it will join Uridum as the launch C64 titles later this year.

That game reminded me of the Karate Kid 2 game for the NES in the 2 player mode.

Wow wonderful now when do we get DLC for the Wii?

I enjoy the Wii but this is a crappy substitute for not having a killer line up of games. With the exception of the only 5 titles worth owning for the system.
Metroid
Zelda
RE3
Mario Galaxy
Zak & wiki.

Sorry SSBB fans, never been a fan of smash brothers.

IMO

Does this mean I'm going to see Techmo Bowl come back?!!!!

The word is that they'll be 500 points!!!

Who the heck would spend $5.00 on a C64 game. I would consider getting one if it was around $2.00

Sweet memories. That game kicked all kinds of 8-Bit ass back in the day.

Wow...A new Aliens game. Gears of War 2. Metal Gear. PS3,360, and PC get those current games. But the WII...WE GET COMMEDORE 64 GAMES. We are so lucky. 250 bucks for a wii...and we get bad 8 bit games. On a system that took for ever to load. Thanks nintendo. Thank you VERY SO MUCH!. And to think they didn't even have to buy us dinner! I must LOOOVE bending over. Should have learned my lesson with the gamecube.

That's "HAWT!" Still grinning.

There was actually some great gameplay on the C64. Update the sound & graphics, and let it rock.

Epyx Summer Games, Summer Games II, Winter Games, anyone?
