Bioware Working On New 'KOTOR'

According to an EA analyst report, Bioware (now property of Electronic Arts) is working on another Knights of the Old Republic game, as well as a yet-unnamed MMO.

While the rumor of a KOTOR online game was all over the place a few months ago, this seems to indicate definitely that it's not gonna happen. But whatever, a new Knights of the Old Republic and a Bioware produced MMO can mean only good things.

No more details are available about either game, but rest assured, as soon as we know anything, you will too.

While you wait for these games, please enjoy the below history of Bioware.

hopefully, they will take the character template from mass effect and apply it to kotor to give it that extra touch of drama!

Well it is about damn time! There hasn't been a good SW game since the first KOTOR and since Bioware is doing it, guaran-damn-tee yourself it's gonna be good.

The 2nd Kotor game wasnt bad, it was just too damn buggy, much was removed and released too soon, plus there are teams restoring those issues online.

KOTOR was awesome, but Obsidian totally rushed KOTOR 2 and it made for some pretty bad gameplay elements, like the near-unbeatability of the final boss. Nice to hear that the KOTOR franchise is back with Bioware. Cross-platform release please, if only to save us fans of the original that are purchasing PS3's from paying for a 360 as well!

I beg to differ. SW: Battlefront 2 was pretty good. Not to mention Lego Star Wars 2. The first Lego Star Wars was WAY too easy. I beat it in about 4-6 hours.

I just had a nerd-gasm. This is awesome news if it is indeed true. Gods I hope it's not just another KOTOR 3 rumor.

Incidentally, I blame Morgan for my KOTOR addiction. It was her recommendation that made me pick it up since I was desperate for a Xbox game before I could afford the 360. I wasn't even a SW fan before KOTOR.

I'm glad it's not an MMO. I would hate to not be able to play this game because of all the online crap.

I just fired up KOTOR II the other day cause I needed a RPG fix. Man that game was not nearly as good the second time around. I just hope this game has better combat.

I knew there would be a new one just didnt know when i can't wait will itbe for xbox 360 like most f the star wars games. It should be since the first 2 was on xbox. I Love KOTOR and most star wars games Thank u EA (Bio Ware)

This makes me kriffing happy. But will it be 360 exclusive or not, since Bioware is now a part of EA. Their sales would probably go up a crapload if it was multi-platform.

I'd deffinatly expect KOTOR 3 to be Mass Effect, with the Mass Effect content swapped out, and KOTOR content put in, and that in no way is a bad thing. I still have to go finish KOTOR 2, but if this is going multi platform I do hope this game is more stand alone than a continuation of 2 (not that it can't answer questions about 2)

The Force binds the galaxy together. Maybe EA will learn a few things from Master Yoda and confirm that it will be multi-platform. I dunno if they can do anything more with Darth Revan. I'm kinda hoping for a Battle of Ruusan story that features Darth Bane and the Brotherhood of Darkness. After reading the Darth Bane duology I can't wait for the new books series planned for the Old Republic.

i played and beat both kotor 1 and 2 best rpgs i have ever played i liked 2 a lil more but hearing kotor 3 is great news i like how you get to interact with the characters and talk to them using sentences not just yes or no but they should add the combat style in mass effect into kotor 3 that would be awesome!

This is awsome news to my ears. I have been praying for a new KOTOR game. Darth Revan, Bastila, and Carth should have some major plot parts in this. It should tie in both KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2. Trade up the Ebon Hawk and give us a deeper story line with more than 6 planets to vist. I hope this is real and I cant wait for offical news.

Hey did Atton die at the end of KOTOR II the sith lords???? and if he didn't die do you think he will be in KOTOR 3? Can some one give me full detail from the female exile in KOTOR 2
from the part were the exile goes to Malichor 5
to the end. please, and didn'y Atton love well liked the female exile alot?

actually, i heard that the 3rd kotor is based 2 years after attons death, and yes he luved the exile alot.
i dont know much about kotor 2 coz im a bioware/kotor 1 kind of person,

I borrowed kotor 1 from a video store, then i bought the 2nd then the 1st and eva since the first ive luved it!!!!, w00t!!!, ya baby!!!!!!!. everybody dance now!!!! :D :D :D :) :) :), but its on 360 :(, havnt got a 360 yet :(

I just can't wait for the game to come out. If it doesn't i think there is gona be a lot of angery people out there. The second game left me wanting more i couldn't believe that it just ended like that. it left so many unanswered questions. They have to make a third one otherwise this would have been just a waist of time.

THANK GOD bioware is doing it, that new company screwed up the second one, maybe bioware will make some sense out of the nonsense in kotor 2 and make sense out of it in kotor 3. we can only hope

Ya i just finished KOTOR 2 and i was disapionted that you couldnt continue playing so they should make the game play able affter you beat the game that would be sweet and make it much more enjoyable.

Ohhhhh my god yessss. Ive heard the rumors but they r just rumors. but now that a legit source like g4 has mentioned a new KOTOR made by bioware im so happy. The second one was good but it wasnt as good as the first one. But wat they need to do is use the character system from mass effect so u can really customize ur person. Also i think it would b cool if they made it so u could either tell ur people to attack like in the first ones. or if they did like in mass effect where u can actually control ur person. But this is great now all that needs to happen is Star Wars Battlefront 3 and ill b the happiest person alive
