Schilling Will Retire, Work On Games

Posted January 10, 2008 - By Mike D'Alonzo

Curt Schilling is, perhaps, most well known in his role as one of the most productive pitchers in the history of baseball, having brought two World Series victories to Boston as a member of the Red Sox. After this season, however, you will know him as the designer of a new MMORPG, which is currently being developed under the code name Copernicus.

One of Schilling's collaborators is comic book and action figure mogul Todd MacFarlane, so you know it's going to be at least interesting. Schilling revealed at CES that he will be retiring from baseball after the upcoming season, and devoting his work life, full time, to working for his gaming studio, 38 Studios.

We are fervently hoping that you play Copernicus as a blood-filled sock on the way to Cooperstown, NY, beset by angry Yankees fans everywhere you go.
