Dr. Dre Lights Up CES...With Headphones?

Posted by Frank Meyer - Monday, January 07, 2008 2:46 PM

How much do Beats by Dr. Dre cost?

Half a million?

A million?

More?

Nope, try $399.95.

But sadly, that’s for headphones of the same name, not an actual beat by the legendary hip hop producer/rapper.

Yes, Dre and Interscope Chairman Jimmy Iovine teamed up with Monster Cable to unveil a new line of high-end headphones at CES over the weekend that are said to use a new driver technology to provide “remarkably natural sound, incredible transient response and rich, deep bass.”

The duo have been developing the product for the last coupla years in an effort to “allow listeners to experience the full dynamic range, low bass punch and clarity intended by producers.”

The headphones come in a special carrying case with anti-microbial cleaning cloths, a special Monster headphone cable, a mini-stereo to 1/4-inch stereo cable adapter, as well as iSonitalk, a microphone/headphone adapter for iPhones.

It does not, however, comes with a gat or a sack of the chronic.

Damn!

Can rappers brand their name on anything under 300$?
Wel, I guess they need the extra monety to pay for their solid gold toilet seats, diamond encrusted paper towels, and enough weapons to take over Kenya.

Just because YOU can't afford the stuff and would rather spend your Macdonald's paycheck on Walmart wires doesn't mean it's "crap". There are MYRIADS (that means "a lot", you putz) of other brands that sell unproven product for MUCH higher prices (e.g. look up "cryogenic cables").
