Comedy mastermind Sacha Baron Cohen recently told UK newspaper The Telegraph that he has retired his two most popular characters, Borat and Ali G.

Yes, despite News Corporation CEO Rupert Murdoch’s announcement last February there would be a sequel to Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, Baron Cohen says that hapless/racist Kazakh journalist and hip hoppin’ UK interviewer are just too popular for him to work with in the manner he is used to.
"When I was being Ali G and Borat, I was in character sometimes 14 hours a day and I came to love them, so admitting I am never going to play them again is quite a sad thing," he told the newspaper. "It is like saying goodbye to a loved one. The problem with success, although it's fantastic, is that every new person who sees the Borat movie is one less person I 'get' with Borat again, so it's a kind of self-defeating form, really."
One character that fans can expect to see more of is flamboyant, homosexual, Austrian fashion expert Brüno, who is the subject of Baron Cohen’s latest docu-comedy. Baron Cohen is also currently co-starring in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
