Remember waaaayyy back in the day, after the 9/11 terrorist attacks when Wu Tang Clan leader the RZA started taking colloidal silver supplements to protect himself from anthrax and other biological attacks? Remember? For many of us, that was the first we’d heard of the supplement and it’s peculiar side effect – colloidal silver can eventually and irreversibly turn the skin an ashen gray or blue, a condition known as Argyria.
Judging from the photo to the left, dated October 2007, the RZA appears to have escaped this fate. One man who hasn’t, however, is Paul Karason. Fourteen years ago, Karason began taking colloidal silver as a remedy for his severe dermatitis. Slowly but surely, his skin began to turn blue.
According to Karason, “The change was so gradual that I didn't perceive it and other people around me likewise. It wasn't until a friend I hadn't seen in several months came by my parent's place to see me and he asked me 'what did you do?.’”
Eventually, Karason’s blue skin caused him to refrain from going out in public if he could help it. It also inspired a completely irrational and all-consuming hatred toward him on the part of the evil wizard, Gargamel.
