Bluetooth headsets are in a weird market right now. They all pretty much do the same thing and it usually comes down to personal preference and style. Throw in the fact that not all phones support the same Bluetooth features and now it starts to get complicated.
This device from Cardo supports everything a phone can throw at it along with a few extras specific to the headset. A handy “swap” function allows the phone to quickly switch between two different paired cell phones.
It uses an on/off switch like most headsets, which we always feel is inferior to a flipping boom of the trusty Motorola HS850, but that’s just our (right) opinion. The mini-USB jack is great, however, and allows the headset to be charged by a cable we usually have lying around for other devices.
The downside, however, is that we experienced poor sound quality on almost every call using two different cell phones (iPhone and Motorola RAZR) and switched between the HS850 and this headset on the same calls while staying stationary with good signal. There was even noticeable static on the calls while using the S-800.
We cannot recommend this headset, especially with the hefty $84.99 price-tag for something that reduced call quality for us. Steer clear.
