Ubisoft is preparing to release a browser-based MMO sometime next year. Heroes of Might and Magic Kingdoms will not require any downloads or installation, so anyone with a desire to swing a battle axe can jump right into it. The game will combine region development, population maintinence, trades and bartering, as well as strategic combat.
With so much available straight through your browser with no downloads or installation to worry about, this very well may be the future of MMOs. Or it could just be another attempt to get the casual gaming market hooked on something more hardcore. Either way, we'll tell you all the gruesome details when it launches next year.
