Hey, would-be Fassbinders and Michael Bays: This is the luckiest blog post you will ever read.
Lucky for you, the 48-hour film project is taking their "Make a movie in 2 days!" thing and moving it to Second Life for a 48-hour machinima contest. SO you'll be able to hone your directorial chops on the denizens of Second Life.
The competition starts on Friday, January 11th, at 4:00 p.m. Second Life Time (7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time). A representative from each team will receive a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue to be worked into their film. Teams have until Sunday, January 13th, at 4:30 p.m. Second Life Time (7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time) to submit a completed entry. On the following Wednesday, January 16th and Thursday, January 17th, screenings will be held "virtually" in Second Life at the New Globe Theater. And a winner will be crowned.
As you'd expect, reservations are limited, and first-come-first-served. So register right now.
