Yes, Toyota recently unveiled two new “Partner Robots,” which are being developed "to support people's everyday life." One enables people to take a seat while it rolls along uneven ground and navigates around obstacles. But it’s the violin ‘bot that is the real breakthrough. Scientists say it was created to entertain in nursing homes and medical facilities, soothing and entertaining patients.
Both units should be in "practical use" by 2010.”
