'Galaxy' Top Rated Game

Here's a nice present for Nintendo's first birthday: Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii is now the top-ranked game, based on review scores, on gamerankings.com.

Mario scored a 98%, beating out Link, in the form of Ocarina of Time, for the best-of-the-best honor.

The worst-reviewed videogame of all time did not change. It remains Charlie's Angels for the GameCube, which earned 24%.

Just to fuel the Flames and make sure everyone understands exactly what they are saying with this post.

The critics have unanimously scored Super Mario Galaxy higher than Halo 3, Gears of War, Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, The Orange Box, BioShock, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, God of War, Resident Evil 4 and every other game so far!

In Fact the TOP 3 best rated games of all time are Nintendo games. (Oddly Half-Life 2/Orange box holds 3 positions in the top 10.)

The game earned it. It's a lot of fun, and reviewers gave it great scores. My wife and I fight over the t.v. when we get home to see who plays Galaxy first. I haven't fought over the t.v. like that since Street Fighter 2 when I had to outrun my brothers from the school bus to the t.v.!

i agree i got it saturday and i havent had that much fun playing a game since mario 64 and legend of zelda twilight(the one thats on the wii, not too sure about the title) its really fun and i like the way they use the comets to increase the difficulty. O yea i got halo3 and i still own it and yes mario galaxy is better then halo3 and gears of war dont know about the other ones tho

Super Mario Galaxy is a game we haven't had in a long time. Anyone not checking this game out is doing themselves a disservice.

But those other games are no slouches either. It's a great year for games. Who cares which one is better.

Nintendo has always delivered some really great first party games, that's a given. The problem is they don't deliver games on a regular basis and their third party games have sucked more balls than a Tijuana hooker.

You can play a couple really awesome games on a Nintendo system...but you can play a lot more really great games on the other systems. It's been that way for a while now. Good on Nintendo for making such a good game...now if only they'd make more.

The release of galaxy has pretty much sealed the deal for me. I now must go out and buy a wii. It sux my roommate had one but he moved out a while back :( He was a cool roommate to boot. Anyways i cannot wait to play this game it looks so good.

I know that I am going to get killed for this - The game is one of the most innovative games I have ever played- Nintendo out does itself time and time again, with that being said this game makes me want to throw the controller out the window. There are times that I get hit by stuff off-screen; not being able to move the camera all the time is very frustrating. If you do not say there are serious problems with the controls then you are playing a different game. I pulled out the N64 and played Mario 64 instead.

Nintendo – you have the ability to dominate home gaming for years to come, bring back the N64 controller and give people the option of using the Wii remote, or have the remote available for specific games.

Haha I played Mario Galaxy and it's alright but it definetly doesn't deserve all the high scores that it's getting.

I think the controls are just about perfect. Very intuitive and easy to use. I wish there was a way to permanently level up to have more than 3 life, but this is probably the most fun I have ever had playing a game.

Luigi- 21 out of 120 stars

yeah i really did get so addicted that i got all 120 stars with Mario and am now playing with Luigi

p.s. when you play as Luigi, there are 2 Luigi's WTF????

Darkmods used a guide, or something I don't believe he found all 120 without cheats.

joe4315, I think the controlls are perfect and feel the critics don't give the scores they gave to a game with broken controls.

first- OoT is The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
second- these stars are easy to find and get, it shows how skilled i am at the game and how not so much skilled you are at the game

p.s. i got 61 stars within 2 days of release

Honestly.. I dont really feel like delving too deeply into Super Mario galaxy attaining this (at the moment anyway) ranking.. Galaxy over Halo 3? Thats fine. But Galaxy over Ocarina of Time? Uhh.. yeah.. I disagree..

ok darkmods i believe you. *respect*

i don't play games everyday but i feel like i've played this one a lot and i've only got 59 stars, i've only played the first 4 observatories so far. i did think i might have to cheat at some point when luigi told me 3 stars is all he'd help me find.

i thought ppl liked twilight princess better then OoT, i haven't played TP and OoT was a great game.

I've played Super Mario Galaxy, I have to tell you it was one of the most fun I've ever had in a long time. I will say that they could of done a better job on the camera.

In the end Nintendo knows how to make good games.
